Bespoke dining table
This table shows one of our favourite finishes. We call this model the burnt oak herringbone.
Made by hand in our Sussex workshop this table is constructed using sustainable , solid oak parquet blocks.
After being laid the blocks are gently burnt . This process blackens the oak and creates a tactile surface where the soft areas of the grain are removed , almost a driftwood feel. The surface is then treated with a natural wax oil which seals the oak and creates a durable surface for use in the home. The wax oil layers soften and smooth the surface to touch.
For the table in the photograph we finished the frame and legs with an ice white powder coat which provides a striking contrast with the jet black oak top.
The frame and legs can be painted a colour of your choice from the RAL industrial paint range . Please feel free to contact us if you require any help or advice on colour options.
If you want your table to have a raw industrial feel then we can provide the frame and legs in an aged steel finish.The raw steel shows the story of the tables production . The metal takes on marks and patterns during the fabrication process and like all handmade items this makes each table individual. We are proud to use locally sourced steel for the legs recycled from pieces of sheet steel left over from the fabrication of oil tanks. The steel provides an interesting contrast with the clean perfection of the burnt wood top.
The legs of the table are bolted to the frame and are easily removed. We deliver our tables with the legs off in case access is tight.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions. This table is a bespoke item and is made to order. A table measuring 1.6 m x 900 cm ideally suits six diners. This design can be made up to 3 m in length in order to accommodate more people. The legs of the table are ideally situated in each corner to allow for maximum leg room.
